Buen provecho 2024
In Westwood, food is more than just food. It’s community.
For many in Southwest Denver, food access is not a guarantee. Generations of racist and systemic disinvestment have turned Southwest Denver into a food desert. We developed a mission to cultivate a thriving and resilient community by taking control of our community’s food production and creating a local economy. The food we grow and distribute doesn't just nourish bodies but also preserves our culture and local heritage.
Buen Provecho celebrates the connection between food and community preservation, recognizing its important role in overcoming Denver's most severe health, safety, economic and social challenges. This year, we showcased the expansion of our urban agriculture model that is transforming life for Westwood residents and honored our local Latina leaders who make everything we do possible.
Through food, we learn, grow, and sustain ourselves and future generations.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored Buen Provecho 2024. Your support helps us continue our mission of ensuring food security and economic independence in our Southwest Denver communities.
